I am 6mos and need to attend parenting classes. Also, birthing classes and breastfeeding classes because I plan on breastfeeding. Also I ‘ve heard of prenatal yoga classes as well and is also interested in that.

Hi! Contact your local hospital. They should have birthing classes for you to sign up for. They will also offer the breast feeding classes. I used yahoo local to find a place for prenatal yoga. I loved taking it! It was soo calming and really helped during labor. Good Luck!

I live in Houston, and I think that the Women’s Hospital Of Texas on Fannin offers classes like that. I would certainly ask.
I know that my sister also found a class for older siblings to attend that teaches them how to handle a baby.
Just an FYI, though, there’s NO class that will prepare you for parenting. It is the most unique experience in the world!

Go through your hospital. Mine offered a free breastfeeding class after birth. Plus you can ask for a lactation nurse to help you while you are there. Don’t over-educate yourself. No class or book can really prepare you.

you should check with the hospital that you will be delivering at. when i was pregnant i went to a lamaze class at the hospital that i was delievering at and it was only like $50 or less and it also including one free session of the parenting class they offered there too. i know what i got may not be what you get cause i am in the cleveland area, but i am sure you can find something similar. and i would have to say the hospital you will delivery at is the first place to start cause it may cost you less just because you will be delivering there, but it never hurts to check it out. good luck.

Contact the hospital where you are going to deliver or any local hospital. Our birthing classes were $60, which I didn’t think was bad because it was a 4 week course. I also took a breastfeeding class at the hospital, which was only $20, and they included a book on breastfeeding. I live in the north, so I don’t know what the hospitals in Houston would charge, but I would have to believe they would be comparable. You can also check with your OB’s office.
